Abstract Session book of the West Milton Presbyterian Church 1847 - 57; included are membership rolls for 1857 and 1862 and a biography of Rev. Joseph Sweetman (1773 - 1863). Session book of the Presbyterian Church, West Milton. Containing the minutes of its proceedings from April 1847 - January 1857. Included in these minutes is a biographical sketch of Rev. Joseph Sweetman, D.D., one of the first three graduates of Union College in 1797. He was licensed to preach by the Presbytery of Albany in 1799, their first licentiate. Included also are the membership rolls for 1857 and 1862. These items were handed down to the donor by her family. Her grandfather was Henry Keeler, a West Milton farmer, b. 2/28/1835 in Milton, d. 1/11/1925. He served as Elder and Superintendent of the Sunday School for many years at the West Milton Presbyterian Church. After retiring from farming he served as postmaster of the West Milton Post Office for 23 years. His son, John A. Keeler, the donor's father, took over the farm. The congregation of the West Milton Presbyterian Church disbanded and the building was torn down.
