unbleached white wool felt with single thread stripes of red and tan unbleached white wool felt with single thread stripes of red and tan
First "felt" used at the Island Mil, Ballston Spa. Felts like these were used to cover rollers in paper mills. Made of woolen material, they were used as blankets by many Ballston Spa families after they had been discarded by the mills. This felt was handed down to the donor by her parents. Her father, Charles Warren Jordan, was in charge of the Island Mill operations as foreman. The family lived in one of the mill houses on Kent Street, Ballston Spa.
