Surname Files

Brookside Museum's Research Library maintains over 1,100 surname files for the use of researchers. Surname files contain a variety of documents related to specific families in Saratoga County. Some files are fairly detailed, while some may contain only a single sheet of paper.  Brookside is not responsible for the quality or quantity of the documents in the files. 

Those unable to visit Brookside in person may purchase a photocopied file for a fee.  A complete listing of our surname files is available to view as an Adobe PDF document. This document is searchable and includes the pricing of each file. All prices listed are subject to change; please confirm file prices with staff prior to approving your payment. Prices listed do not include shipping. Shipping costs generally run about 25% of your total. Please allow three to four weeks for delivery as there can be a backlog.

We cannot offer refunds if the file does not contain the information you seek.  Unfortunately, due to our limited staff, we are not able to list the contents of the files for you prior to purchase. Prepayment is required.

To search the listing:

4. Click on the name in the search results list. If no results list appears, we do not have a copy of the file. 

We accept MasterCard, Visa, personal checks, and money orders. Payment by credit card must include your name as it appears on the card, the card number, and the expiration.
