RESEARCH: Services/ Photocopy Services

Information

Brookside's staff and volunteers are happy to provide patrons with photocopies for a nominal fee ($.25 cents per page), provided the copies are to be used for private study, scholarship, or research. and do not infringe on copyright laws.

The Director is responsible for determining which materials or records under his/her control can be made available for use and/or photocopied/ reproduced. Because of the physical conditions of certain materials, access cannot be assumed nor can photocopies be made of all holdings.

If visiting our library in person, please request photocopies from staff.

Photocopies of holdings can be ordered by mail. Prepayment is required; copies are $.25 cents per page, plus the patron will be charged for shipping/handling.

Notice Concerning Copyright Restrictions

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.

Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement.

This institution reserve the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would invoice violation of copyright law.
