William J. (Billy) Dower (1869–1941), Ballston Monitor, ca. 1890
Although never a star player, Billy Dower was a good left fielder, occasoinally a catcher, and sometimes a second baseman. His career in baseball began as a boy of fifteen, when he walked from Eastline to the Fairgounds, where the Ballston Monitors were. Dower played baseball until about 1916, when he was in his early 40s.
